  1. If you're tight on space, during orbits, it may be useful for the people orbiting to pass their counterpart in the neighboring set by the left shoulder - essentially traveling a bit further from their own partner and overlapping with the next set over. This move has been described to me as "like the Olympics rings," if that helps picture it.
  2. When it's the gentlespoons' turn to allemande, they have more than enough time to go once around. They could go slowly, go very quickly twice, or twirl out of the allemande if desired.
