hook: madrobin across frm partner in sinusoidal movement
by: Ramya Rajan
formation: Becket
At the start of the dance, after you slide left, neighbor across the set from you is neighbor 1, recognize neighbor on left diagonal as neighbor 2, neighbor further to the left as neighbor 3 for each walk-through.
A1 | 2 | slide left along set
|
6 | circle left 3 places
| |
4 | mad robin ½ around, ladles in front around current neighbor 1 across from partner
| |
4 | mad robin ½ around, gentlespoons in front around neighbor 2 across from partner
| |
A2 | 6 | mad robin, ladles in front around neighbor 3 across from partner
|
4 | mad robin ½ around, ladles in front back around neighbor 2 across from partner
| |
6 | mad robin, gentlespoons in front back around neighbor 1 across from partner
| |
B1 | 16 | gentlespoons start a full hey - lefts in center, rights on ends - ladles ricochet second time back to your partner
|
B2 | 16 | partners long swing and get ready to slide left
|
Helpful (hopefully) notes for end effects -
i. if you are out at the end of the dance with the slide left, gentlespoons get on the left, ladles on the right and face your partner ready to 1/2 madrobin with gentlespoons in front with neighbor 2 in A1.
ii. if you are out during madrobin, continue 1/2 or full madrobin across the set with your partner, as if facing into the set.
iii. Since there is so much madrobin-ing, it helps if each dancer remembers to alternate going in the front and in the back esp at the end around your partner. That way when you are coming back in, you know if you must step in the front or to the back.
If you ever see this, thank you for the valuable feedback. You know who you are.
