hook: challenging physics-themed dance
by: Alex Burka
formation: duple indecent (reverse progression)
To get into indecent formation, lineup improper and have everyone swing neighbors.
| A1 | 6 | star left 3 places
|
| 2 | gentlespoons turn alone and join right hands
| |
| 8 | gentlespoons allemande right 1½ around while the ladles orbit counter clockwise ½ around (release the allemande slightly early to be ready for the right shoulder round)
| |
| A2 | 8 | partners gyre once (start wide and spiral towards each other)
|
| 8 | partners swing
| |
| B1 | 4 | gentlespoons allemande left ½ to short waves
|
| 4 | balance short wave
| |
| 4 | neighbors allemande right ¾ to long waves
| |
| 4 | balance long wave
| |
| B2 | 4 | box circulate - gentlespoons cross while ladles loop left ⁋
|
| 2 | ladles pull by right
| |
| 10 | neighbors swing
|
When waiting out, re-enter the dance during the long waves, improper -- lark on the left looking at partner's back.
The dance tells the story of stars in a spiral dance leading to a supernova, producing gravitational waves which red-shift from short to long wavelength.
