The Dance of Deception

by: Myrtle Wilhite

formation: Becket indecent

From normal Becket, have partners trade places, then identify shadows as person next to you who isn't your partner

A1 0
dance begins in group of four with shadows
8
circle left 4 places
8
shadows do si do once
A2 16
gentlespoons start a full hey - lefts in center, rights on ends - look away from shadows to find partners
B1 16
partners balance & swing
B2 6
long lines forward & back
2
partners pull by right
6
shadows see saw once
2
slide left along set ⁋

The original choreography is notated with shadows and partners switched, but this presentation more effectively captures the dynamics needed to make the partner you asked the partner you dance with. The timing in the B part is odd, but it's presented as in the original dance. A rollaway in the lines may be better.
