"This dance was a reaction to a dance weekend where there were too many dances that spent too much time in clockwise rotation. This sequence intentionally changes from clockwise to counter-clockwise rotation throughout the dance. Composed in Feb. '97."
A very relatable complaint, though the dance itself perhaps works better as a protest than as part of a normal evening.
