hook: shadow rollaway progression
by: John Coffman
formation: Becket
It is important to help dancers identify their shadow before the dance starts. In Becket formation, have dancers face their partner; their shadow is beyond their partner.
A1 | 8 | gentlespoons allemande left 1½

A2 | 8 | left diagonal ladles chain to shadow

Start the dance over with the neighbors now across from you.
John Coffman Notes: After the left diagonal ladles chain in A2, all will be dancing with their new neighbor and their shadow.
The {unusual} progression takes place in B1 with the {shadow} roll away.
