Thumbs up, ready to go. Mind how to teach promenade around the oval.
Thumbs up, ready to go.
Ready to go. For long wavy lines, tell dancers "Left hand to your neighbor/partner"
Possible. More care for teaching Colonnade (foot paths first, then add arch. Give 2's a chance to arch, too)
Very tight for Up/Down chain, so add another line? Very compartmentalized. Possibly good for early/newish dancers. Can be tight to get full circles, but the swing catch everyone up.
Swap out the Revolving door & try again. Flutterby? Give & take? CL 3/4?

Swap out the Revolving door & try again. Flutterby? Give & take? CL 3/4?
introduces moves: revolving door, square through, circle, petronella
formation: four face four
Most of the dance is with your neighbors, except the half hey figure, which is with your traveling buddies ("shadows" in B1).
A1 | 8 | revolving door - ladles take right hands and drop off partners on other side
|
8 | neighbors swing
| |
A2 | 8 | gentlespoons allemande left 1½
|
8 | partners swing
| |
B1 | 8 | square through two - neighbors balance & pull by right, then partners pull by left
|
8 | shadows start a half hey - lefts on ends, rights in center, pass your partner, and join hands with your neighbors
| |
B2 | 8 | circle right 3 places
|
8 | balance & petronella, face new neighbors ⁋
|
As in Dutch Crossing, end the half hey right after passing by your partner. For the circle, gentlespoons are already moving in that direction, so they get to lead the circle to the /right/.
