"The motion in B1 does seem magical – while the ladles Petronella over and back across the set, the gentlespoons do consecutive Petronellas along the side, in effect progressing behind his partner’s back."

Notes from Bob Isaacs: Written on August 7, 2012 as a smushing together of the B2/A1 of "A Sure Thing" and A2/B1 of "Trust," to put both transitions in the same dance. Chris learned to dance and call at Glenside before moving to San Diego a decade ago. This dance has it all; a new transition, good flow into both swings, and the beautiful/circle R/pousette progression.

| |
4 | balance the ring
| |
4 | gentlespoons roll away partners on the side of the set - no half sashay! and face new neighbors ⁋
|
Inspired by Du Quoin Races by Orace Johnson.
During the roll away progression, gentlespoons' instinct will be to half-sashay to the left to take their partner's place -- but they really do need to stand their ground (or even shift a bit to the right if the sets are spread out) in order to progress to the next neighbors. In the walkthrough, it may be helpful to have the dancers balance the ring and then open up into long lines and look at their next neighbors, for orientation purposes. Emphasize that it will be a roll TO THE RIGHT with no half sashay, and that they should keep those roll aways tight with springy arms to avoid collisions. It may also be helpful to instruct the gentlespoons to take a small step backwards during the roll away to make space, and then slide a smidge to the right to meet new neighbors.
